Welcome to CHEES'CALE !

In Chees'Cale, scale the giant wall of cheese as a mouse to escape the big bad orange cat ! Dodge obstacles and climb as quickly as possible to the top of the wall !

Controls : Click to place a hold in the green triangle area in order to help the mouse progress. The direction of the green area is random, the only thing you can control is the intensity of the mouses movement and speed. Place the hold more or less further in the green triangle in order to move the mouse further away or closer to avoid the different obstacles. You can take your time to place a hold, but not too much, as the cat will attack you. Collect hearts on the map to heal after you get hit by an obstacle or the cat. After hits, you get a small invincibility time.

This game was made in less than 96 hours for the GMTK Game Jam 2024, theme : Built to Scale

How does this game fit the theme ? --> "Scale" can refer to scalling a wall or a mountain. This is the definition we were going for. The core gameplay mechanic is building handles to help the mouse scale the cheese, which is almost exactly the theme definition. The game also plays with scales by the use of the giant wall of cheese and the cat, along with oddly sized obstacles.

Felt like I just played an aim trainer. (in a good way)

I do think that too many times you completely dodge a heart because of the luck for where the triangle goes is pretty annoying.

Besides that good game

Thanks!! Planned to add some hearts in the next post-jam update.

Having hearts is supposed to be a little challenge where you have to manage the intensity of mouse movement to get it, but I agree that it can be frustrating so adding more would be the solution I think

Great game :D

Im glad you liked it! Thx :)

Great idea, great game but i don't understand how to dodge
